PLASMA TREATMENT IN THE PLASTIC INDUSTRY

There are many applications using plasma and concerning plastic materials both before the production process, starting from the raw material treated with plasma, and where it is necessary to improve the adhesion and cleaning of the surface in various parts and components previously to further industrial processes and applications.
Firstly, the plasma treating the plastic surfaces cleans the volatile organic compounds that would otherwise prevent bonding, painting or decoration; secondly, the activation of the surface creates a hydrophilic improvement which is totally wettable for adhesives, paints, lacquers, etc.

The polarization of the raw material improve the bonds formed on the surface which then become extremely tenacious so that the adhesion on the material treated with the plasma become extremely resistant.
Plasma treatment on most materials will be functional for several months, before industrial application,
if stored in a dust-free environment.
